Suspended Driver's License

If your driver’s license is suspended because of unpaid fines a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy filing will allow you to reinstate your driving privileges usually within two or three days of filing your bankruptcy case.

You must have a source of income and make payments to a Chapter 13 Plan. The payments can be as low as $150.00 per month. At the end of the three year Chapter 13 case all of your debt (with few exceptions) including traffic fines are discharged and you will no longer be liable for paying them. Also, because the infraction fines are discharged your driving privilege will no longer be suspended because of them.

If your driver’s license is suspended because of an uninsured accident either a Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 case will allow you to reinstate your driving privilege within just a few days of filing your case.
